  1. Correct, I am referring to my own business model as currently practiced being fatally flawed. We are in the midst of a transition, as explained in the essay and elsewhere.
  2. Joel Salatin did not invent multispecies farming or rotational grazing. The aerials of my farm indicate that I use his broiler pen design. It’s a good one. I borrow ideas from lots of people.
  3. Joel Salatin’s business model relies heavily on exploiting near-unpaid intern labor and recently beginning to do things that, in his books, he swore he’d never do — like door to door delivery and shipping; things I’ve been doing for years. Perhaps Joel is copying me :-P
  4. I do not speak as if a small farm co-op is something that I’ve invented; in the essay I attribute that model explicitly to indigenous people who were here and practicing the method long before the Hutterites and other colonizers showed up.
