I Got Kicked Off Instagram for Being Called a N*gger
Social media networks are protecting hate speech and punishing people for defending themselves from it
Back in January I went viral in a way I never have, before or since, from a reel I improvised while feeding my hens during a frosty sunrise. I’ve penned and written things that have attracted plenty of eyeballs, but this was in another league: tens of millions of views, celebrity follows (Big Boi and Mike Epps), Tiffany Haddish in my DMs asking about selling our food at her market, an interview on the Karen Hunter Show, and even Jordan Peele’s production company picking my brain about a film centered around Black farmers.
As expected, none of the above really came to anything except a steadier stream of sales from my farm collective, which is all I really wanted. My goal in life is to build my business into a powerhouse of regenerative poultry, not become yet another celebrity.
